Allan Murtagh
Maintenance Controller / Director
With over 35 years of aviation experience, Allan holds a New Zealand Certificate in Aeronautical Engineering and is both a Licensed Aircraft Maintenance Engineer and Commercial Helicopter Pilot, with nearly 12,000 flying hours. He began his career in 1973 with James Aviation, before progressing into pilot and engineering roles with Glacier Helicopters.
Allan has owned and operated Heliwork NZ Ltd and Forest Aviation, delivering services to major clients including Carter Holt Harvey. He is currently a CAA-approved Maintenance Controller and holds an Inspection Authorisation (IA) for AMC NZ Ltd, bringing extensive expertise across operations, maintenance, and civil aviation compliance.

Sally Murtagh
Technical Records Controller / Director
Sally began her aviation career in 1979 with Glacier Helicopters in Fox Glacier, before becoming co-owner of Heliwork NZ Ltd and Forest Aviation for 25 years. She brings extensive experience across both aerial work and air transport operations.
Now with AMC New Zealand, Sally is responsible for technical records, service advice, and airworthiness directive management, following completion of the Maintenance Controller’s Course.
Sam Murtagh
Software Engineer / Managing Director
With over 20 years of experience in the aviation industry, Sam holds an Air Transport Pilot Licence (Helicopters) and has spent the past 15 years flying rescue helicopters, operating in high-pressure environments where precision, safety, and decision-making are critical. His extensive operational background provides a deep understanding of real-world aviation demands, regulatory requirements, and the importance of reliability in both maintenance and operations.
Complementing his aviation career, Sam is an experienced Mechanical Engineer and spent four years working overseas in robotics and automation as a Project Manager, developing a strong understanding of customer expectations, operational demands, and delivering under strict time constraints.
In addition, Sam is an experienced software developer, bringing a modern, systems-driven approach to aviation operations and maintenance management. This combination of technical capability and frontline aviation experience enables him to deliver practical, efficient, and compliant solutions tailored to operators’ needs.
